Description

Kinect Disneyland Adventures allows you to be surrounded with magic as you fly, dance and dive into classic Disneyland park attractions. Leave the controller behind as you interact with over 40 beloved Disney characters!

 

All levels were singleplayer or cooperative.

 

This project was a kinect title for the Xbox 360, I worked on it from concept to gold master. It was completed in 8 months.

Role

As a level designer on KDA I was fully responsible for 4 levels in the game. I also significantly contributed to 3 other levels. This involved designing the player path, mechanics for the level, scripted events, markup, bug fixing, balancing and optimization.

 

I also designed the tools to create smooth consistent collections of objects along the player paths.

Most coins require the players to lean left and right to collect, but they must beware hazards to their hands.

In part 2 of Big Thunder Mountain the players are running along the top of the run away train, by jumping, leaning, ducking and reaching they must navigate to the front of the train.

Various obstacles were sent at the player such as low hanging beams, beams they must jump over, stalactites, bats and more.

In Jungle Cruise the players are navigating their way down some rapids. The players can row to move faster, the faster they completed the level the better the bonus they received.

The players must destroy crates dumped by the boat to get extra coins, hit fruit back at the gorillas, avoid obstacles and fend of aggressive crocodiles.

In Space Mountain the players must navigate a debris field collecting ship parts as they go along. The player navigates using their hands to direct their ship.
